Setting Up A Blog For Your Online Business

Article writing and marketing is important, but you will also want to set up a blog. Creating a blog for your business is the best way to connect with others who are interested in learning more about your topic. I like to think of my blog as my home on the internet. It is a place where I share my knowledge and expertise in the areas of eBook writing, blogging, technology, social media, and article writing. When someone comes to my blog, whether it is through one of my articles, a comment from a forum, or from Facebook or Twitter, they will know very quickly if this is where they will find the information they need. Here are some ways to get your blog ready quickly, so that you will attract the prospects and clients you want for your online business.

  • Choose a blogging platform that is easy for you to use. The best choices are Typepad or a hosted WordPress blog. With these two blogging services you own your blog and have complete control over it.
  • Post to your blog regularly. This should be at least twice a week, and more in the beginning. Remember that you can always ask people to write a guest post or use articles from the article directories that would be of interest to your readers. Keep those articles intact, leaving the author’s name and resource box information exactly the way they were written.
  • Focus on one topic for your blog. If you write about a variety of things you will never find an audience that sticks with you. Become an expert on your topic and share your expertise with your readers.
  • Read and comment on other people’s blogs. Many people neglect this part of the process and miss out on the relationship building that is so important online.

Follow these steps and you will have a blog that people will want to read regularly. Become the go-to person in your field and your blog will help you to create a profitable online business.

You can write articles about anything you want to. This can be in your field of expertise, experiences you have had in your life, or jobs you have done during your life. Writing articles will give you the opportunity to get your message out to others as you build visibility online for yourself and your business. Here are some ways to get your articles written on a regular basis.

  • Keep a notepad handy to make notes on what you want to write about in your articles. Write one or two sentences to remind you of the points you want to make.
  • Make a schedule for yourself to write your articles. Determine what time of day is best for you to write. If you can set aside one hour each day to write articles, you will be able to write as much as you want.

How To Write A 7 Tips Article

Writing 7 Tips articles will help to get your name known on the internet while you are promoting yourself and your products. If you are not sure about writing articles, realize that it will become much easier after you write your first ten and submit them to the article directories. Here are 7 tips on how to get started writing articles to market and promote yourself online.

  • First, make a list of what you would like to share in your first article. This can be tips, techniques, mistakes to avoid, or anything else your readers would be interested in.
  • Next, write an introductory paragraph to tell the readers what you will be sharing with them in your article.
  • Then list your tips or ideas and write a sentence or two about each one so that people feel like they have learned something by reading your article.
  • Finally, write a short concluding paragraph that makes them want to know just a little bit more about your topic.
  • Include a resource box with an invitation for the reader to visit your blog or website. You want them to click on your link so that they can learn more. You may want to offer them something, like a free report or other information, so they will be drawn to your information.

Writing articles as part of your online writing

Article writing is just one type of writing that can be done online. If you are willing to take the time and make the effort to write, you can easily build an online business that will make you money for years to come. Here are some types of writing and how you can work from home with your online writing.

  • Articles – you can write short articles and submit them to the various article directories. These articles can be used to promote an affiliate product or service or to build a list of names and emails of people who are interested in finding out more about your area of expertise.
  • Blogs – Blogs are now read by millions of people every day. You can use your articles to develop blog posts that will keep your readers interested in finding out more about what you do. Make sure to have a way to capture names and email addresses of people who want to subscribe to your blog.
  • Short reports – this is the most overlooked type of writing. A short report is anywhere from about 10 to 30 pages long and can be created by combining several of your articles and then expanded into a longer format. You can sell your short report on a website or a blog. As you develop more products you may want to give away your short report as a lead generator.

These templates will get your creative juices flowing and allow you to write and submit your article in less than one hour from beginning to end. Here are the 7 steps involved in the process of using an article writing template to create an original article extremely fast.

  • Choose the template you are going to use. I like the 7 tips template best, so I will use it for this example.
  • Write an introductory paragraph that tells your readers what the article will be about. This paragraph only needs to be about three or four sentences in length.
  • At the end of this introductory paragraph tell your readers that you will now be giving them 7 tips, 7 reasons, 7 ways, 7 mistakes, 7 steps, or 7 of something that you want to share with them on your topic.
  • List each one of the 7 and add a few sentences to explain and give examples of what you mean.
  • Conclude with a paragraph that leads your readers directly into your resource box. You want to give a soft ending so that they will keep on reading.
  • Invite them back to your website, blog, or to an affiliate product that will give them the opportunity to register or purchase whatever you have been telling them about throughout your article.
  • When you submit your article use a title with your keywords in the very beginning so that you will have much better search engine ranking.

Whether your ebook is already written or you are in the process of writing it, you can use content from your ebook to write your own e-course. Here are 7 steps to creating your own e-course.

  • Decide if you will offer a lesson or a tip in each part of your e-course. You want each part to be short enough to fit into an email.
  • Once you have decided, look through what you have already written and choose about 7 important ideas that will be helpful to your readers.
  • Write a series of 7 emails that each contains one tip or lesson. You will send these out through an autoresponder system that you use to communicate with your list.
